The most used item in any first aid kit. Period.
A band-aid (adhesive bandage or plaster) is a small, pre-cut sterile wound dressing with an adhesive strip that sticks directly to skin. The central pad covers the wound while the adhesive holds it in place.
Adhesive bandages are the most essential basic item in any first aid kit.
Band-aids are used for minor cuts, scrapes, blisters, and small abrasions. They keep the wound covered (preventing contamination), absorb small amounts of blood and fluid, and protect the wound during healing. The Philippine Red Cross survival kit includes 15 bandage strips as a standard item.
Available everywhere in the Philippines. Mercury Drug, Rose Pharmacy, Generika, sari-sari stores, SM, NCCC… you name it. Always stock assorted sizes (small, medium, knuckle, fingertip) for different wound locations.
